• 7 rostered player 3 pit passes.

• Format and Games 12 team LIMIT
• 5 Player teams

The OSC and NPPL Pump Division is growing. We want to thank all the teams that came out and the sponsors that supported this event: CCM, CCI, and Blackstar. The LA Hitmen and Nuggetz showed off West Coast skills as they locked in first and second. The Hitmen held off all the teams with only one loss in the games and that was to the Nuggetz. But don't fool yourself there is some mad skills in Florida and these teams only need to get into the 5man groove and they will be off the hook ready for anything the West Coasters can dish out. In an exhibition game the Nuggetz faced off with PumpChallenge.net in the center court in a little West Coast vs. East Coast Action. The Nuggetz secured the win and edged out PumpChallenge.net. 

But enough updates get game up and head out to Buffalo OSC NPPL Pump Division #3 only 12 spots so register early and help us spread the word.

LA Hitmen Take First Place

Event Wrap Up: The OSC (OldSchoolChallenge.com) and NPPL teamed up to bring together some of the best pump teams in the world to compete in the greatest paintball environment: the NPPL. Huntington Beach is a spectacular venue and offered the pump teams a chance to shine and show off their moves to a whole new world. This 5-Player competition welcomed teams from all over the US. Teams battled it out in 4 divisions with the top 2 teams going into the next round. Finals consisted of the top 2 teams from each division again going on to the final 4. Assasin8, Blowfish, LA Hitmen and Pumpenstein faced off in the final matches. LA Hitmen and Blowfish dominated the final bracket and squared off in the end. LA Hitmen took the top nods and walked away with First Place.

The introduction to the new format was a success. How it works is simple. Your first 3 games are a qualifier. Each division is made up of a top team, bottom team and 2 mid performing teams. Every one has a chance at open class and the top prizes. After your qualifiers games the top 2 teams in your division play OPEN CLASS the bottom 2 play Players Division. 

Lets do a quick recap from HSP. We faced off in the stadium field and it was a perfect day for playing. Teams were geared up and ready to go. After qualifiers teams settled in to their Classes and found some great energy for some super moves. Lots of action on the field and lots of great straight up ball as well. The OSC is shaping up this season and the PUMP Community is ready to meet the new competition.

3. Players may NOT use Pump ID to play on a NPPL 7man team.

• 7 players on the roster and 3 pit passes per team (If you need the 8th player that have to register manually on Saturday please see NPPL registration)

The OSC will not be giving entry fees discounts or awards for 2008. We had too many problems and too much time was needed to keep up the Entry Fee Award program. 

ONLY ONE TROPHY will be awarded to the First Place team only. This will still be a custom trophy and the top 3 teams will still get medals. The award budget was too expensive to maintain. 

NPPL Rules will be used for 2008.

Master Division Change - OPEN CLASS QUALIFYING

ROSTER: At previous events we have allowed teams to share a player if they were short because of injury or circumstance. The team captains had decided that it would be allowed. The provision was that the score table was notified and the OSC Director or acting official approved the roster modification. For example (this is just an example) the Yuma Rattlers have an injury and they have a Flipped Out additional rostered player finish with them. This was allowed because the games were to be "FUN" and we are all family after all. At HSP Event #1 there was roster sharing. After speaking to many of the team captains some don't care but some do. And I agree with their point. A team can use and manipulate their roster by sharing their best players and make an impact on their games. The OSC is far more competitive and we do need to deal with this. If this change is accepted there will be no exceptions. To create the most even playing field the OSC has been asked to reinstate the following: Players may not be listed on more than one team roster per event, and a player may not change teams during an event. A team will be immediately disqualified if they have any player on the field that is not on their current roster.

Masters Division: The Master Division will be changed immediately. The OSC will use and OPEN CLASS format. Teams will qualify at each event to play up to the top division. Teams that do not make the cut will play in the Players Division. . 

If there are no objections both of these will be effective for the next event. I will post any arguments or view points here.

Übermäßig kühl - Old School Challenge - Germany : The OSC Style is moving on to Germany. The Old School Challenge Germany is adopting the OSC Style in and effort to move pump play into Germany. Andreas Platten is working directly with Kristen Kleist to take on this challenge. This will be a 3player format and for Germany this will be unlimited paint. The Old School Challenge Germany will be starting up in April 2008 and will be an affiliated series run by Andreas directly. Kristen and the OSC staff welcome Andreas as an affiliate producer.-More information to follow.
