Answers about Rules & Clarifications
For clarification: 2008 we are going back to the NPPL Rulebook with some exceptions (format differences, chrono speed 280fps and 285fps with 12gram and any changes required by the field or producer noted in capt. meeting at event or posted on website). The OSC for 2006 uses the NPPL Rulebook as a guide. For 2007 and the OSC Rulebook can be found HERE! There are some modifications to this rule book to accommodate the 3 player pump format and we do not care about the color of the paint or marker. If you have specific questions email me. |

RULES We have had a few questions about the tougher rule enforcement for 2005. Like why more rules? Actually the rules are already in place but we want to tighten the playing field up and really get down to the nuts and bolts of the game. Our goal is to give you a series that is competitive and fair. This will help. So please assist us in making this work. So here is a few items you as a player need to be responsible for.
So what if you do break the rules? The refs will ask you to remove the extra item or items. Since time is a factor for all of our games you may or may not be able to play in the game that you are walking on to. This may cause your team to play short. This may cost you the game. SOOOO...I suggest taking care of it before you are on the field. If you have a question I will be happy to answer it ahead of time to eliminate any confusion and keep you playing. We want you all out there playing on an even field. We are enforcing these rules to give you that even playing field you need to play paintball. All Old School Challenge games are PUMP ONLY. No Semi Markers are allowed. Pneumatic assist markers are not allowed unless stated. The 3-Player format is limited paint. Each Player is allowed 40 rounds per player per game. Players will check-in to their field judges and show the judge their marker is empty and at that time show the officials their 4 - 10-Round Stock tubes. Once the team goes to their start station they can divide the paint anyway they want among their teammates. 3-Player is center flag (football style). Games are 5 minutes with a 10 second silent countdown. The 3-player series begginning in 2007 will have 2 divisions. The Master's Division will be the top OSC teams. These teams will qualify and each season the bottom teams will drop back to the Player's Division. The Player's Division is still a competitive and superior series. It is the top series of its kind in the world. Each season top seated Player's Division teams will move up to the Master's Division and replace the unseated teams. This Series and these divisions are created for the serious pump player. Built with over 20 years of experience in paintball. The 5-Player format is currently unlimited for 2006. 5-Player is center flag (football style). Games are 5 minutes with a 10 second silent countdown. The Elite Series is born in 2006. This is the ultimate in 5-player pump. The 5-Player is more competitive and more far reaching. 5-Player is the next evolution for the 3-Player teams. The 7-Player format is unlimited paint. 7-Player is dual flag. Games are 5 minutes with a 10 second silent countdown. Chrono speed is always 280 fps for any constant air marker. A player that uses 12-grams is allowed to chrono in at 285 but the player must present a fresh 12 gram to the field judge. Once they pop their fresh 12-gram into their marker their first shot mush be 285 fps or less. |
